Because of the standing quarter. Having your auto tranny rebuilt is scary and expensive. The company could cut a corner, not do something right, etc etc. Their warranty on there work is always short. And it lingers in your mind, that it could dump again! Old school ford autos are pretty much bulletproof which is why I haven’t bothered with the thought of replacing it. Should it ever blow I’ll consider a manual swap.
